Second Baptist Church of Asbury Park

What Can I Expect When I Arrive?

On Sundays, you can expect to be greeted at the main entrance by ushers who will be happy to assist you.  You’ll also find a church full of welcoming people who can help you find your way around.  Don’t be afraid to ask.

You will find chair-lifts throughout the facility giving you full access to everything wonderful here at Second Baptist.

What Are The Worship Experiences Like?

Our worship experiences are impactful, fun, transformational, energetic, meaningful, and a great mix of traditional and modern worship. You will experience a dynamic message with practical lessons that compel you to live more like Jesus Christ. A dynamic choir singing a range of music to touch the heart and soul further enhances the worship experience!

Do You Celebrate Communion?  Which Sundays?  Who Is Welcome To Participate?

We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month. Baptists have historically identified baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the two ordinances given by the Lord to symbolize the believer’s union with Christ.

Are Babies & Children Welcome In Worship?  Do You Have A Room If My Baby Is Fussy During Worship?

Second Baptist of Asbury Park is an intergenerational church. All ages are welcome in our sanctuary in our worship services!  On the 2nd & 4th Sundays, children ages 5-12 are invited to participate in Youth Church. We understand there will be noisy babies, however, if you feel uncomfortable, we have a space where the parents can accompany their children while they play and still be able to participate in worship via video stream. Please ask any ushers or deacons who will be able to direct you to this room.

Where Do I Park?

There are 2 parking lots accessible from Union Avenue. In addition, there is street parking on both sides of all streets that surround the church. (Atkins, Springwood, Atlantic, and Union)

How Do I Enter The Building?

Second Baptist is beautifully situated on the corner of Atkins & Atlantic next to Springwood Park, just off Springwood Ave.  On Sundays, the front and side entrances are available for entrance into the church. The right front door entrance is wheel chair accessible.

On weekdays you can come to the entrance on the south side of the Christian Education building; facing Springwood Park. When you ring the bell, someone will come down to greet you and let you in.

Do You Have A Coffee Mixer Before Worship Where I Might Have A Chance To Meet Members?

Nothing formal, but there is usually a small crowd of people gathered around a station with coffee, tea, and snacks and/or pastries in the Fellowship Hall.

Is There Someone Who Could Pray With Me If I Am Not A Member?

Yes! Feel free to ask the pastor or associate pastor or any of the deacons.
