First Baptist Church

First organized in 1869. Early founders of the church used a house on what is now Camp and Dills Bluff Road for worship services. Today, the church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Charlie L. Murray Jr. occupies approximately 20 acres. Some of the church outreach include: The Bread of Life Ministry which feeds approximately 75 families each month; The Evangelical Ministry and Missionary Clothes Ministry provides clothing, coats, blankets, and shoes as well as spiritual guidance. Our church works cooperatively with the James Island Outreach ministry. FBCJI also contributes to James Island Interfaith Ministry which supports the local school system and community.
